Are You Saved?

Wouldn’t it be comforting to know for sure?

Salvation is a free gift to everyone who asks.  But what does that mean?

There is a Creator who has already prepared a better place than can be found in this world for all those who believe in him, trust him, and love him.

A beautiful place where there is no pain and where there are no tears.  A colorful place of changing light, with no darkness at all, where we can enjoy the most delicious food, succulent gardens, amazing music, and loving friendships imaginable.

A place of peace and rest, forever.

Those who believe and ask for Salvation are the children of God, and God loves his children more than we could ever understand.

Sounds like Heaven, doesn’t it?  Who in their right mind wouldn’t want to live in such a paradise?

The only thing that separates you from this promise is your sin.

Does Everybody Sin?

Yes, everybody sins…you, me, your family members, your neighbors, even your priest, pastor, or rabbi. We’re all born with a ‘sin nature’.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

“For, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” (Romans 10:13)

What is Sin?

Sin is anything that goes against the law or will of God. For example: if you lie, you have sinned. Why? Because along with 9 other commandments that God gave Moses some 4,000 years ago, God told us not to lie.   If you do what God has forbidden, then you have sinned, whether you know it or not.  If you do not do what God has commanded, then you sin (James 4:17). Either way, the result of sin is eternal separation from God, which is the worst possible outcome for anyone.

The 10 Commandments

  1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
  2. You shall make no idols.
  3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
  4. Keep the Sabbath day holy.
  5. Honor your father and your mother.
  6. You shall not murder.
  7. You shall not commit adultery.
  8. You shall not steal.
  9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  10. You shall not covet.

How many commandments have you broken? It doesn’t matter if you’ve only broken one your entire life, which is unlikely.  It doesn’t matter if you’ve broken all of them, as long as you confess your sins, repent from your wrongdoing, ask Yeshua for forgiveness with a contrite heart, and seek to know him by reading his word in the Bible and by talking to him regularly, something that is also known as ‘prayer’.

Wait! Here’s the Good News

“We are made right with God by placing our faith in Yeshua. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Yeshua when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.”
—Romans 3:22–24

Only the blood Yeshua can wipe away your sins and make them white as snow.

Q: What does “washed by the blood of Jesus” mean?
A: It means that you must believe that Yeshua/Jesus willingly laid down his life as payment for the wrongs you’ve done, yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  His blood was shed for you.  Only the blood of the one perfect, sinless, God-man could satisfy the requirement of the law. Mercy and grace.  He allowed himself to be humiliated, mocked, spit upon, beaten, whipped, and nailed to a cross out of love for you, knowing it was the only way.  He laid down his life only to take it up again on the third day.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus/Yeshua is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
-Romans 10:9

What is Mercy?

Mercy is not receiving what you deserve.

What is Grace?

Grace is receiving what you do not deserve.

The Sinner’s Prayer

The Sinner’s Prayer can be any prayer of repentance, prayed by anyone who believes, who feels convicted of the presence of sin in their lives, and has the desire to establish or renew a personal relationship with God through Yeshua / Jesus Christ.  This Sinner’s prayer is not a about saying the exact words of some prayer a hundred times or more.  It’s about the condition of your heart, and your realization that you can never be good enough to earn your way into Heaven…nobody is.

The Sinner’s Prayer is said when someone seeks to repent of their sin, ask God for forgiveness and state their belief in the life, death, and saving resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Here is one example of the Sinner’s prayer:

Dear God in Heaven,

I come to you in the name of Yeshua / Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.

I believe that your only begotten Son, Yeshua shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn away from my sin.

You said in the Bible that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Yeshua from the dead, then we shall be saved.

Right now, I confess Yeshua / Jesus as my Lord and Savior. With all my heart, I believe that God raised Yeshua from the dead. This very moment I accept Yeshua as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.

Amen.

Have You Prayed This Prayer?

Do You Believe God Raised Jesus/Yeshua from the Dead?

Then Know without Doubt that You Are Saved … God Heard You.

If you were moved by what you read, to either accept the gift of Salvation from Jesus/Yeshua for the first time, or to re-commit yourself to developing a deeper relationship with the God you already know exists, then will you please let us know?
